From Solid Form of Care to Fluid Designs of the Self is a Research by Design project on Hospital Typologies and spatial mechanisms of the clinical gaze.The Type-Research gives emphasis to power relations between care-taker and care-given within 6 case studies in which spatial mechanisms of surveillance and care are captured through the ephemeral image of the gaze. The gaze of the doctor. The gaze of the patient. Reconstructed from archival material of several Hospital Types. The design examines forms of care, settlements and spatial relations. It explores the emergence of new technological medical devises that challenge the need for physical space and questions forms of care and treatment.
